Find the authoritative source
Registrar accounts, DNS hosting, and application hosting can be separate services. Before editing records, establish which nameservers are authoritative and where the active zone is managed. An old control panel can look convincing while having no effect on public answers.
Investigate the symptom and its scope
We review website resolution, mail routing, verification records, delegation, and related configuration as the issue requires. Similar symptoms can originate outside DNS. The investigation should distinguish a naming issue from hosting, certificate, network, or application problems.
Change records with dependencies in view
A change plan identifies affected records, intended values, approval, validation, and rollback. Less-visible services and third-party verification records matter alongside the main website. Time-to-live values influence caching, but do not make an unsafe change safe.
Leave useful documentation
A handover explains what changed, where active records are managed, and how to validate the intended service. We can identify cleanup work and ownership gaps. Any ongoing maintenance is agreed separately from a specific investigation or repair.
Questions about DNS consulting
Can you work with my current DNS provider?
Yes, where access and the provider's capabilities allow. A provider move is not required for every repair.
Must DNS change during a registrar transfer?
Registrar management and DNS hosting are separate decisions. Confirm that existing DNS remains available before planning the transfer.
